Top Ten New Must Reads of August 2018!

Happy August!

I feel like July just flew by and I still have so many books to read from that month. There were so many books that came out on the 31st of July that I just need so there is going to be a book haul in the future! For now though here is my calendar of awesome August releases to look forward to and add to the TBR pile. Each book mentioned here has a picture of the book, the link to the book’s Goodreads (click on the title), a summary on the book, release date, and any thoughts I have on the book. So let’s jump in and I hope you enjoy!

**Also these are of course not all the August releases.

Book One: Catwoman: Soulstealer

29749098The first book on this list is one of the DC Icons books. Its the newest one in the series or set. I have not read any of these but I am particularly excited for this one because it is by Sarah J. Maas and I just love her! I have also always been interested in Catwoman in different illustrations of her so I am pumped to read this. I do have some of the other Icon books so I will get to them at some point.

Summary: **Since I have not read these books I have summarized the Goodreads and Amazon summary for this page so that you guys can have the most accurate ideas about the book!

Book Two: #MurderTrending

34521785This book I was lucky enough to get an ARC copy of and I have already read and reviewed this. So if you are super interested please check out the review under the reviews page and all the stuff on my Instagram about it! I also have a review on Goodreads as well. I really loved this story and the characters or personas created.

Summary: This book is centered around Alcatraz 2.0. Essentially we have changed Alcatraz into a place for criminals to live where at some point a killer will murder them. However, they are being watched by cameras the whole time and people at home have their favorite criminals who live on the island and have their favorite killers. For example, one of the island killers is named GucciHangman another was Prince Slycer. Gucci likes to use Gucci to kill his criminals (victims) and Prince Slycer made his dress as different Disney princesses. Both of which were super interesting. There were several other killers and the criminals on the island never knew when they would come for them or how they would die. Our main character is sent to the island after being accused of killing her stepsister. However, she maintains that she did not do it, that she was framed. She survives the first attempt on her life and becomes an internet phenomenon. From here the story on the island takes off, allowing you to meet others, see how they live their life, learn to survive, and learn about the mysterious Kimmy. I absolutely loved this book and I would recommend it to anyone who loves a good thrill or if you have ever seen Deadman Wonderland.

Book Five: City of Ghosts

35403058This is another author I can not get enough of Victoria Schwab. A long time ago I read the Archived books by her and now I own some of her other books and they are at the top of my TBR. 32718970I have heard about this next book for a while and I put it on my TBR a long time ago. The story intrigued me and I wanted to read more than just a summary so I am excited for it to come out and see more reviews and be able to obtain my own copy.

From what I understand this book skips between the past and the present and I enjoy books that do this. This book focuses on the story of a group of friends in the past and one friend in the present. In the past, there were four friends and they were Ellory’s whole entire world. In the present Ellory is alone, has been suspended for two months and has to come back to school after this and summer. She will have no friends now, no boyfriend and be stuck with the thoughts of what happened in the past. In order for Ellory to move on with her life, she will have to sort out the truth from the lies and figure out how to move forward from what happened.

Book Eight: Toil and Trouble

61XfVpOPJEL._SX329_BO1,204,203,200_This is not my usual read. It’s a fiction anthology full of witch stories! Book Nine: The Towering Sky

51NCwP0SG0L._SX329_BO1,204,203,200_This is the third book in the Thousandth Floor series. I own the first book and started reading it a long time ago but had to put it down (not due to the book, but due to life). However, I have moved it way up on my TBR because I really did like what I got to read of it and I want to read this series. This is the final book in the series according to the Goodreads page and I am excited to see what the author has coming next.

Summary: **Since I have not read this books I have summarized the Goodreads and Amazon summary for this page so that you guys can have the most accurate ideas about the book! Also since this is the third book in the series I will not be saying too much because I do not want to give anything away to someone who may just be starting out.

This third installment continues to follow the main characters from the previous books; Leda, Watt, Rylin, Avery, and Calliope as they try to cover up some of their biggest secrets yet! I really liked how the first book switched perspective so I am hoping this book continues that style and we get to see each character in their own time as well as connecting with the others. Hopefully, the series will end with a memorable bang!
